Things you need to “DO” & “REMEMBER” Get a good night’s sleep Eat a healthy breakfast each morning No drama Here on time & feeling well Check out several books Please dress in layers. Do your best. Monitor/manage your time. Ask for accommodations. Remember: There will be NO Block Lunch for testing week There are only certain things your teacher can say on the day of the test. & You must pass your EOC’s to graduate. Testing Rooms Keep up with your testing paper* (This is new) Check for your name and room number on the “testing” posters in the hall. Posters will be up for viewing a week prior to the test. If you “think” you did not pass your EOC test & your name is NOT there, see Ms. Coen. If you “think” you passed your EOC test & your name is there, see Ms. Coen. Jackie Why NO changes

Testing paper Each student will receive a sheet (see pic below) that will show exactly what their week will look like for testing.

TESTERS: Tentative Schedule of the Day 8:20-8:45 – attendance, cell phones, lunch order; Announcement by Mrs. Flores 8:45 - 9:00 – testing begins with teacher directions 2 hrs of testing (2.5 hours on days for Eng tests) 30 min – lunch/restroom

Parents CANNOT bring lunch to be delivered to you. What’s for Lunch? Cost $2.75 Sandwich, chips, cookie, fruit, milk (NO choice) NO change will be returned to students. Parents CANNOT bring lunch to be delivered to you. You may bring your own lunch and/or drink (There will be no microwave or refrigeration for lunches brought from home.) Testing Tips Be mindful of distracting noises Let your teacher know if there is a problem No talking in any format during the entire testing time Drink water Think of your happy place Stretch (quietly, without distracting others) Keep your answer document clean

Bubbling Put your answer document aside “if” you are bubbling last At the “30 minutes left mark”, you should be bubbling. At the 10 minutes left mark, you should be finalizing and checking your bubbling. When you are ready to bubble… Bubble carefully Check your bubbles 2 finger check No highlighters when bubbling Jackie Three passes (explain how this works with the editing/revising) Three types of questions (ones you know, ones you think you know, ones you don’t know) Breaks (relieves you of frustration – write notes to the writing committee as to how you feel when you get frustrated. Keep it school appropriate! Highlighter is for key words/ phrases – NOT coloring Straight edge – An index card that keeps you on the right line and keeps you from being bombarded by words when you are reading. YOU CANNOT WRITE ON THE INDEX CARD Overlay – keeps you focused while reading PLEASE PROTECT YOUR ANSWER DOCUMENT Check and recheck your bubbling. Do the 2 finger test or use the straight edge if necessary to check

VERY Important Tips Use your test taking skills as you have been taught in class Keep your earplugs. There are NO extras If you are sick, please see an administrator BEFORE starting your test. Once you break the seal, you have to make-up your tests. Watch your time. When it’s OVER, it’s OVER!

After the test What happens now?

FOR THOSE TESTING: After the Test Sleep Read a book or school appropriate magazine. NO electronic devices NO sharing or trading NO talking even if everyone is done DO NOT write on anything after the test

NON-TESTERS Things you need to know & remember Your best behavior is expected during testing. We will have NOT have Block Lunch during testing Check the charts or the posters to locate your relocated classes. Your teacher will know which lunch you will have. It may be different from your normal lunch. Follow your regular schedule including attending your off- campus classes.
