Introduction to Business Process Flows A process is a series of related activities that “flow” through an organization. Processes are not limited to a single function or department and allow a view of activities from their initiation to their conclusion. Process flows allow a diagrammatic view of vital information pertaining to a process, including activities, responsibilities, inputs and outputs. It represents the sequential steps involved in converting a specific input into a required output. Process flows assist in breaking down functional areas to focus on a process view of the organization, aiding in assessing efficiencies and required controls.
