TSS Project Update Attribution of Haze Workgroup/ Air Quality Modeling Forum Meeting San Diego, CA November 2, 2006

Outline Overview Status of TSS functionality Near-term work (Nov ‘06-Jan ‘07) Long-term work (2007)

Overview TSS url: http://vista.cira.colostate.edu/tss/ TSS focus has been to prepare tools to support SIP writers’ needs Dynamic tools – interactive, based on data queries Graphs Tables Maps Static tools – analyses/products generated outside of the TSS, often placeholders for planned dynamic tools Where possible, data tables have been made available for download so analysts can examine data and reformat graphics as required Development/evolution of the TSS will continue throughout 2007

Status of TSS Functionality Green – Substantially functional, results or information generally available Yellow – Functional, but somewhat incomplete at this time Red – Not substantially functional or complete

Integrated Mapping and Analysis Tool

Near-Term Work (Nov. ’06 – Jan. ’07) Access emissions/modeling GIS layers from CIRA server (rather than ENVIRON server) IMAT functionality and integration with TSS tool pages Modify/Add tools Add products currently unavailable on the WOE checklist (pending RRF analysis/decisions and IMAT integration) Integrate the new IMPROVE algorithm in every tool Add natural conditions for new IMPROVE algorithm Add model projections for 2018 (pending RRF analysis/decision) Add dynamic glide slope/uniform rate of progress tool (pending RRF analysis/decision Add organic aerosol tracer tool (pending results from RMC) Link to additional COHA analyses Complete methods documentation

Other Near-Term Activities Announce TSS status to WRAP community (11/6) Tribal Technical and Policy Workshop (11/28-29) – prepare Tribal tab in WOE checklist IWG Meeting (12/6-8) – review TSS; set schedule for WebEx training sessions Complete site-specific data substitutions (Nov.) Complete alternate (?) RRF calculations for all sites and publish 2018 visibility predictions (Dec.) Publish draft AoH phase 2 report (Jan.)

Long-Term Work (2007) TSS training (WebEx-style) –anticipate 2 sessions in early 2007 TSS training (classroom style) – anticipate 1 session, open to broad audience, in spring 2007 TSS data updates: Emissions updates (mid-2007) Results from control strategy modeling (mid-2007) IMPROVE data updates for 2005 and 2006 TSS linkage with other web sites/data nodes: Fire Emissions Tracking System (FETS) Emissions Data Management System (EDMS)
