The Three Approaches Limiters Mentors Enablers Loomis Union School District

Parenting in a Digital Age How do we keep up? What is my child doing? What are my child’s friends doing? What do I want my child to stay away from? Where can I learn about these apps? What will other parents say? Should I spy? Do you remember what it was like to be 10 years old? GOOD DAD, CHECK OUT MY SNAPCHAT FEED FOR DETAILS. What will other parents say? How Loomis Union School District

Being Intentional with Our Approach Model Mentor Monitor How are you modeling the use of technology? What are you looking for when you monitor their technology use? What will you do when you “find” it? Being Intentional with Our Approach Monitoring is only as good as the system you have in place. Kids will explore things that you didn’t want them to explore. Friends houses. Things will come at them and if they’ve only been monitored, they won’t be equipped with the tools that they need to protect themselves. Loomis Union School District
