MATTHEW 23:28 Even so you also outwardly appear righteous to men, but inside you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.
Presentation transcript:

Preaching the Law of Christ Paul was open about his sin, calling himself the chief sinner - 1 Tim 1:15 Consider what Christ has said about hypocrisy - Matt 7:3-5; Matt 23:1-3 Paul reasoned with God that his past could aid him in reaching those that were still involved in the same sin - Acts 22:17-21 Paul was bold, regardless of his past, the attitudes of others about it, or their threats, when proclaiming Christ - Acts 9:20-25

Challenges with Brethren Consider Ananias with Paul, initially hesitant but eventually calling him brother – Acts 9:13-17 Consider the other disciples with Paul, again hestitant - Acts 9:26-30 Consider what Paul tells all of us about sin - Rom 3:22-23 Past sin something common to every Christian, and it’s why our Lord came and why he had to die - Mark 2:17; 1 Pet 2:24-25

Hesitant of Salvation? Do we consider ourselves not good enough to become Christians? Do you? You would not be the first… Consider what Paul said when calling himself chief among sinners, the very reason he was saying it - 1 Tim 1:12-16 The Lord’s mercy extended to Paul. So it can and does to you and I.
