Bars represent saccharification efficiencies expressed as percent of wild-type (WT) and the saccharification efficiency in WT stems was set at 100% for easy comparison. The values on bars indicate the percent increase in saccharification efficiency of transgenic stems over WT stems. NS, no significant increase; * indicates tissues were also tested for bioethanol production. Note that the scales for graphs are different for various genes.
