Future events AREA Workshop ’19 Working group needed

AREA Workshop 2019 AREA Workshop Building on the success of our DMDII & AREA Chicago workshop earlier this year we’re keen to replicate this event by also offering a “scaled down” version that can be replicated across other events. This is a key event for the AREA with planning beginning now. Benefits include: Highlights AREA members as practitioners and industry leaders Creating collaboration and synergy in the AREA ecosystem Sharing of ideas, best practice, challenges and so on Introducing and expert point of view on the topics that really matter by inviting specialists to talk and share experiences Potential new business opportunities

AWE EU - 18th & 19th Oct - Munich AREA Pavilion After discussions with the AWE EU team we’re pleased to announce that the organisers are able to support the idea of an AREA Pavilion. An email has gone out to all AREA members asking for an expression of interest, however, we’ve had a limited response. This can be a valuable, cost-efficient way of securing a presence at this prestigious event so please do get in touch. AWE Auggie Awards Organisers are looking for VR/AR projects for the Industry-Academia Collaboration Category. Tell Us Your Enterprise AR Success Stories! Any content (videos, case studies, content, graphics, photographs and any other media) about AR and wearable technology to:  enforce adherence to task procedures, particularly safety procedures (your technology in action) understand ROI and benefits gained from delivering AR projects (e.g. examples of helping enterprises achieve higher efficiencies or reduced error rates)

Your Content will be Added AREA  website portal, promoted to the ecosystem (via social media etc) and at conferences attended by the AREA  EPRI  included in an upcoming EPRI reports that thousands of utility decision makers will see.  It will be featured in a trade publication, social media publicity campaign and will also serve as the basis for launching funded proposals to our EPRI members

Human Factors Research Task Force Tackle important questions What are the most important human factors research questions for AREA members? Develop, evaluate and provide feedback about research protocols/methods Create a procedure for collecting, etc. Design/host webinars (schedule, invite experts, etc.) Write and/or promote posts about Human Factors Research on member blogs (or the AREA blog)

Can you provide leadership? Frame/guide the work (via bulletin board or e-mail) Solicit volunteers and manage volunteer inputs Schedule and host task force meetings Compile and provide results to AREA ED Report to the Research Committee (5 min monthly)

Social media update Plans for next Quarter: LinkedIn has strongest measurable impact, both own page and ARVR Professionals Group. Planned announcements to the group (13.7k members) to run from next week every 7 days on Tuesdays – these will be featured in the discussions and delivered to members’ inboxes. Messages will have strongest CTA around work we’re doing with enterprises and how enterprises can engage and benefit from the AREA: - Singapore events EWTS – which members are participating AWE EU plus breakfast networking and members who will attend Release of AREA research Human and Safety Factors 4th research project news & call to support with short survey AREA workshop event in March plus analysis of survey If you haven’t already joined the group please join “Augmented & Virtual Reality Professionals” Twitter – Planned outreach to top 20 industry accounts and magazines in each target industry where we see AR commonly used e.g. manufacturing, engineering, healthcare, aerospace, etc. Aim to get further exposure this way to amplify PR efforts and wider into business, not just existing AR ecosystem.
