Fig 1 Definition of hand length, finger length, and hand width. Point 1: Distal wrist crease defines the proximal starting point of the hand length measurement. Point 2: Crease at the base of the third finger defines the proximal starting point of the third finger measurement. Point 3: Fingertip (ruler is set on top of the finger) defines the distal end point of the measurements of the hand length and third finger length. Point 4: The base of the metacarpal head V on the palmar side defines the medial starting point of the hand width.
