My science fair experiment will test If you can determine how tall a person is just by a walking test.Test if the height of the person is related to their walking pace, and if this information can be used to estimate the height of a person.

Question Can you use a walking test to determine how tall a person is?

Background The reason I picked this is because I was wondering if you could determine how tall a person is by a walking test.

Variables Independent (manipulated) variable :The distance the person walks. Dependent Variable: Is the height of the person Constants: Walking Test, the persons tested, and the distance the person walks.

Hypothesis If I measure the shadow casted by the sun of a person walking then i can measure the persons shadow and find out how tall a person is.

Materials The materials are : chalk the sun body tape measure

Procedure I walked outside I stood in front of a sunny spot then measured how long my shadow was I made sure if i waked, my shadow wouldnt change then i measured it again to see if it was the same then i copied down what i found

Data My Mom Mine My sister 29 feet 31 feet 26 feet

Graph IN INCHES

Conclusion My science project was about, if you can determine the height of a person by a walking test, and by their own shadow.
