Large and small state interests were being balanced.

Republicanism is when the people’s views in government represented by the leaders they vote for. (elected representative make laws for the people) D 300

Federalism is a system of government when powers are shared between a national/central government and the states (federal government has some jobs and states have other, some jobs are even shared. D 400

What effect did Shays’ Rebellion have on the government?

It angered the people and showed the need to create a new plan for government.

What did Constitution say about the importation of slaves?

It said the importation of enslaved people could be taxed but not banned until after 1808.

Which state had the lowest slave population; Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, or Virginia?

What did the Constitution say about runaway slaves?

It says that slave owners have the right to claim slaves who escaped to free states.

According to the Constitution, how would slaves be counted when determining state population?

Three-fifths of all slaves would be counted in order to determine representation and taxation for each state. E 400
