ROAR Behavior of the Week In class, you should follow two standard rules: 1. Remain in your seat, and 2. Don't speak out. You should always ask or be given permission before you do either.

Word of the Day Monday interval (noun): the distance between things; a definite length of time marked off by two instants Sample sentence: After a short interval for an intermission, the play will resume.

Word of the Day Tuesday anecdote (noun): a short and amusing or interesting story about a real incident or person Sample sentence: Bill’s funny anecdote about his first day of high school put the nervous freshmen at ease.

Word of the Day Wednesday compose (verb): write, create, or make up Sample sentence: Even short poems are difficult to compose if you do not have a strong command of the English language.

Word of the Day Thursday differentiate (verb): recognize or ascertain what makes something different Sample sentence: When the twins go outside, they differentiate themselves by dressing in unique outfits.

Word of the Day Friday engross (verb): absorb all the attention or interest of Sample sentence: Hopefully the plastic keys will engross the crying baby for a while.
