Title: “How Much Do We Deviate” Summary: This unit helps students understand where the standard deviation measurement comes from by using their own skeletal measurements as data. They will use MS Kinect and MS Excel to collect and analyze the standard distribution for the class. Students retrieve class data from a file stored from the MS Kinect Students decide on two sets of measurements they want to analyze Students complete a MS Excel spreadsheet page for both data sets that include the measurements that you have decided to analyze. The attached Excel file KinectStatisticsStudentWorksheet.xlsx provides step-by-step instructions. Groups create a paragraph or visual to summarize their results.
