Healthy Families Project Yuliana Topazly

Background We work with a lot of women especially those with children to support them into employment or self-employment, however we see a need to also address family well-being; Well-being means different things to different people but we would like to encourage families to learn more about nutrition, healthy eating as well as simple exercise/activities routines parent can do at home with their children

Description We work with a lot of women especially those with children to support them into employment or self-employment, however we see a need to also address family well-being; Well-being means different things to different people but we would like to encourage families to learn more about nutrition, healthy eating as well as simple exercise/activities routines parent can do at home with their children; We envisage to deliver monthly peer to peer support meetings facilitated by the experts; We will also promote local champions initiative and encourage those parents who engage with this project, will continue to support others within their local community.  

Target We aim to help 10 families in Croydon

Outcomes To developed confidence and improved social skills among parents especially those with children under 5 years old; To help parents within the Borough of Croydon to gain a better understanding about ways they can improve their health and help their families to stay healthy; To make parents participating within the project to be aware of resources, other support services and how they can get involved in supporting their own community
