Heredity Genetic information (DNA) is passed from one generation to the next

Growth and Development Growth occurs as an organism increases in size Development occurs when structures are formed or changed during an organism’s lifetime

Metabolism Living things obtain and use energy in a variety of ways.

Response to Stimuli Living things respond to their environment

Homeostasis Living things maintain a stable internal environment

Evolution Species change over time as they adapt to their environment
