Action words + s / es / ies When we talk about the things a third person usually does, we add s / es / ies to the action words. e.g. She sweeps the floor. He washes the dishes. She tidies the bedroom. We usually add s to the action words. e.g. sweeps sweep plays play reads read helps help

Action words + s / es / ies We add es when the action words end in -sh, -ch or o. e.g. push pushes washes wash watches watch does do We change the letter y into ies when the action words end in y. e.g. carries carry dry dries studies study tidies tidy

Key structure He / She washes the dishes. He /She does not wash the dishes. Don’t change the action words in does (not) sentences.
