Take about a minute to write down your responses Why did you join DKG? What do you like best about your chapter? Why are you attending this workshop today? Take about a minute to write down your responses

As we are going to share these responses I would like you to stand if the respond given applies to you as well. Or if standing is not good for you, please raise your hand and stay like this until we have had heard all of the responses. ….. Is there anyone who did not have an opportunity to stand/raise your hand?

Look around you- What is apparent to you Look around you- What is apparent to you? What does it say about us, about DKG? Hence, we can state, we all pretty much joined DKG for the same reasons, and we all joined in the exact same manner. We joined and received a Red Rose

A rose with petals, leaves, stem and yes even thorns Scholarships Professional growth Access to professional publications Opportunities to publish professional/educational articles and comments

Strengthen your own leadership skills – as chapter committee member, chair or officer Attend international, regional and state conventions, workshops as state committee member, chair, or officer Emotional Health making personal connections with chapter, state, international members

I believe we cannot emphasize enough the personal satisfaction and emotional well being achieved when you make the personal connection with another DKG member. Someone who 100% understands the challenges of teaching, education, but is not connected to your specific school as a supervisor, mentor or even as a black cloud.

Technology Training represents the stem, holds us all up DKG, Sigma State, the executive board, particularly webmaster, Barb Cody are all diligently working bringing us all into the 21st century. Now that we all agree why we became DKG members What’s next? How does it help enhancing membership?
