Sample Booklet Questions SECTION A: Question 1: Give the titles of two texts you have written and identify the genre of each text. Select an extract from one text identified. Copy the extract into the booklet. Question 2: Answer either (a) or (b) Explain how two features of the extract you have chosen are typical of its genre. Identify a change you made during the writing process and explain how it improved your text.

Explain how two features of the extract you have chosen are typical of its genre. FEATURES OF A REVIEW: Informs - the review needs to tell people who is in the film, who it is by and where or when readers can see it Describes - the review should describe the story, characters and some of the action - without spoiling the plot or giving too much away Entertains - provide the reader with their opinion in a way that readers will enjoy, eg with a lively or witty tone Analyses - a good review weighs up whether the film is good or not, giving opinions backed up with reasons and evidence Advises - the review should recommend to the reader whether or not they should go to see the film
