Morning Worship Wedenesday 28th November 2018 Patience Joseph, in Egypt, worked until he understood Bishop Justus Church of England School

Let the light of Christ shine in our lives Gather The Lord be with you And also with you Let the light of Christ shine in our lives

Receive Joseph was thirty years old when he entered the service of Pharaoh king of Egypt. And Joseph went out from the presence of Pharaoh, and went through all the land of Egypt. During the seven plenteous years the earth produced abundantly. He gathered up all the food of the seven years when there was plenty in the land of Egypt, and stored up food in the cities; he stored up in every city the food from the fields around it. From the book of Genesis, chapter 41, verses 46 to 48

Engage Joseph had been sold into slavery and then sent to prison. It was there that he became as a person who understood the meaning of dreams. He was able to understand Pharaoh’s dreams. He was placed in authority and worked with the Egyptians and made sure that they had enough grain stored. Eventually, when his family were struggling they went to Egypt for help. Joseph was reunited with his family. Joseph had spent years working in Egypt, patiently doing his tasks.

Engage Some discussion ideas … What examples of patient work have you come across? What sort of encouragement do we need to keep persevering at our work? Activity suggestion … Make a personal list of the tasks that you find tiring – use the list in your prayer time and ask for the gift of patience. Video suggestion … An example of patient work - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RXBDajyIS6A

Respond Amen God, give us the gifts of perseverance and patience. Help us to do our work carefully, with care and attention. Amen

Go out into the world with the light of Christ Let us bless the Lord Thanks be to God Go out into the world with the light of Christ
