Presentation transcript:

Red Green The student will begin with a topic sentence, which tells the audience about the item they are going to share. For example, “Today, I am going to tell you about my favorite stuffed animal.” The student tells everything they wish to about their sharing item. They could tell where they went or what they saw. They could describe their item, and tell where they got it or what they do with it. As the year progresses, we will work on using transition words, such as “next, then, in addition, finally” to help move the sharing along. For example, “First, my grandmother got this for me.” Students will stop and explain further, and in more detail, about the item. For example, “We went to Build a Bear together and I picked it out myself.” Students go back and remind the audience about the item that they have shared. As the year progresses, we will work on using conclusion words, such as “clearly, obviously, surely, certainly” to wrap up the sharing. For example, “Truly, this stuffed animal is very special to me.” Yellow
