Nursing Degree Apprenticeship Update Lucy Hunte – National Programme Manager

What is an apprenticeship? It is a job with training Must be a minimum of 12 months with 20% off the job Leads to full competency and capability in an occupation Can include Maths & English Functional Skills if required Minimum age 16 no upper age limit

Nurse Apprenticeship Pathway All four fields Adult , Child, Mental Health & LD Meets NMC Standards of proficiency for RN Funding band £27k Level 2 Literacy & Numeracy on entry

L6 Nursing Degree Apprenticeship approved for delivery May 2017 Apprenticeship starts for 2018 = 700 nationally Anticipated starts for 2019 = 800 so far Ongoing Procurement Lots of interest in 2 year APEL Fast Track from L5 Assistant Practitioner and Nursing Associates @NHS_HealthEdEng

Trailblazer Group have submitted the new nurse apprenticeship standard Request that it be delivered at Level 6 and Level 7 to allow more flexibility New Apprenticeship Standard Approved in December 2018 Includes Future Nurse Standards @NHS_HealthEdEng
