USING SPORTS LEADERSHIP TO SUPPORT AND ENPOWER PUPILS TO BE ACTIVE ISSUE/SCENARIO ACTIONS TAKEN IMPACT AND EVIDENCE NEXT STEPS To embed sports leadership in school, ensuring it becomes key in supporting and developing opportunities for our pupils to be healthy, active and competitive. Appoint Sports Crew, Sports Ambassadors, Dance Leaders, Take 5 Ambassadors and Playground Leaders. Provide training to develop their leadership skills, confidence and self esteem. Involve leaders in curriculum delivery, house competitions, active lunchtimes, officiating, blogging, personal challenges. Leaders are role models around school, promoting health, wellbeing and the benefits of physical activity. Increased participation in sports clubs, active lunchtime activities and competitive house sport. Leaders are shaping the curriculum through topic dance tutorials and curriculum delivery. Girls Active – Stepping up for Change project to inspire more girls to be active. Personal challenge cards and zones to be designed and managed by the leaders during active break times. Further develop the training opportunities and resources available to the leaders. SPARKEN HILL ACADEMY
