Patent Policy and Procedures: The contributor is familiar with the IEEE 802 Patent Policy and Procedures http://standards.ieee.org/guides/bylaws/sb-bylaws.pdf including the statement "IEEE standards may include the known use of patent(s), including patent applications, provided the IEEE receives assurance from the patent holder or applicant with respect to patents essential for compliance with both mandatory and optional portions of the standard." Early disclosure to the Working Group of patent information that might be relevant to the standard is essential to reduce the possibility for delays in the development process and increase the likelihood that the draft publication will be approved for publication. Please notify the Chair Apurva N. Mody < apurva.mody@ieee.org > as early as possible, in written or electronic form, if patented technology (or technology under patent application) might be incorporated into a draft standard being developed within the IEEE 802.22 Working Group. Latest news in 802.15 regarding TV white space November 2011 Latest news in 802.15 regarding TV white space 802.15.4m PAR was approved by SASB Official meeting will be held in Okinawa Hiroshi Harada, NICT

November 2011 802.15.4m PAR/Scope This amendment specifies a physical layer for 802.15.4 meeting TV white space regulatory requirements in as many regulatory domains as practical and also any necessary MAC changes needed to support this physical layer. The amendment enables operation in the available TV band white spaces, supporting typical data rates in the 40 kbits per second to 2000 kbits per second range, to realize optimal and power efficient device command and control applications. November 2011 Suggestion to 802.22 WG 802.15.4m may need to have co-existence mechanism or functions with 802.22 standard system RASGCIM group needs to review the approved PAR of 802.15.4m in order to reduce the overlap and shows clear differences with 802.15.4m PAR 802.22 may need to request 802.15.4m regarding their specification by providing documentation Hiroshi Harada, NICT
