Agitate (verb) To disturb or upset Water agitates the cat. To move with an irregular, fast, or violent action The washing machine was put on delicate, so it would agitate gently. To stir up interest in and support for a cause Though the American colonist agitated for more power and independence, King George III was deaf to their demands.

capitulate (verb) To give in; to surrender King George III refused to capitulate to the colonist demands, forcing them to revolt.

citrus (noun/adj) Noun-A fruit of the family that includes oranges, lemons, grapefruits, and limes; a tree that produces that fruit Citrus is an excellent source of vitamin C. Adjective- Of or relating to these fruits or trees The kumquat is a lesser-known member of the citrus family.

Disrupt (verb) to break up the orderly course of Everyday there are some students who attempt to disrupt class. Disruptive (adj) causing confusion or disorder Disruptive behavior is irresponsible and unacceptable during class. Disruption (Noun) a disturbance that interrupts or causes confusion When students cause a selfish disruption, they should have a consequence.

Hovel (noun) an unpleasant, cramped, and dilapidated place to live During her childhood, my grandmother lived in a hovel.

Illiterate (adj) Illiterate (adj) unable to read or write Volunteers are needed to help teach illiterate adults how to read. Illiteracy (noun) inability to read or write Illiteracy is practically non-existent in Japan.

indifferent (adj) Not concerned about; not caring She was indifferent to any grades except PE and Art, which caused her to have a low grade point average. Neither very good or very bad; passable Her indifferent grades in school worried her parents.
