Theme : Love A View From The Bridge

“When am I going to be a wife again Eddie?” This hints to the audience that Eddie has been so concentrated on Catherine and Rodolfo all this time, it has been a while since Beatrice and him had sex. This could suggest that their relationship is quite unstable or not going as well as it should be.

“there is too much love for this niece” Alfieri is using this to help explain Eddie’s feeling of unease. He’s trying to help Eddie realize his inappropriate love for Catherine, yet Eddie denies this.

“You want something else Eddie, and you can never have her.” At this point, even Beatrice has noticed Eddie’s inappropriate love for Catherine, Beatrice exclaims that his love for Catherine is not right, and that will not be a good ending to it if he doesn’t stop now.
