They are a group of elected representatives for our village, they take care of different things in our village such as roads and traffic, planning permission, parks and the look of the village. They are also the publics direct route to our local MP and to the Government. My Client

my Clients website and to see what they do and what they are involved in. From their website I now know that they are involved in development at Efflinch Lane, Radhurst and the Co- op. These are going to be the main points that Im going to address in my video because they are some projects that the Parish Council have under taken that have directly affected the demographic Im aiming at. My secondary research was different to what I was expecting because the promotional video I am trying to create is a bit different to some of the promotional videos that I have researched. One video that I found was the discover Ireland advert. Even though this is an advert I would like to create the same feelings in my promotional video. It makes Ireland look more exiting and I would like to change the conventions of what people think about the Parish Council or inform people who dont know about the Parish Council at all. Through my research I have found that the Parish Council has directly affected the village not just through the parks that they have built and the fish ponds they have renovated. But some of the street names have been named after the first councillors. I have also found out that the Parish Council do reach out to the public so the Council are really involved such as the coat of arms which was based on a public entry. I would like to create more links with the new younger generation who havent been exposed to workings of the Parish Council. Secondary Research

I have looked at other websites that are similar to my Clients to find out what other websites look like. I didnt just look at videos that are similar to what I want to create, I went to other village websites and see how they represent themselves to the public. Secondary Research Market Research

This is the Horndean website this looks like a very professional website. They have a picture to make the website not look more appealing. The websites is also advertising the village better than my Clients because the have pictures showing what it looks like this makes the website easier to look at and encourages you to search around. This is the Denmead website this website looks, again professional but it looks more harsh with cold colours. They also put more links on the first page such as a news feed and links to other pages on the website this makes it easier to navigate through the website. They, just like the previous website, have pictures to make the website more appealing to users and it spaces everything nicely to the website is easy to use. Denmead Council

This website is a bit different because even though this website has a side bar about the happening of the Parish Council. The main page is just about the village and where it is situated. They have a news feed as well this makes it easy to move through the website. This websites theme also matched the pictures this makes the whole website blend and look appealing to the user Chappel Council

After looking at these websites I have concluded that my Clients websites would benefit most from a promotional video. The other websites look more professional and used this is why I think my Clients website would benefit more from a promo video than the others. I think that the promo video would also make the website more attractive to a younger demographic because, I think, the website isnt very inviting and I think a promotional video would change that. For my primary research I have conducted a survey that I have posted on my blog and my Facebook. This is because this video is directed at a younger demographic to encourage them to either vote on what they would like to see I the village or run for election and put their opinions forward and have a direct influence on the village. From this research I would like to gain justification for my promotional video and possibly some influence for my video. Primary Research

This is the first question that was on my survey. From this chart you can tell that the most people how took the test are between the age of ten and seventeen. But another large portion of people who took my survey are between the age of 18 and 24. This is a good thing because these are the age demographics that I want to target for my promotional video. My Results

From this result you can tell that the majority of the people who took the survey are male. This tells you more males are interested in the Parish Council. Even though this is an important question I am really just focusing on the age range rather than the gender

From this question you can clearly see that more than half of the people who took my survey didnt know what the Parish Council is. Which Im going to use as justification for doing this promotional video. Around twenty-five per cent of the people who took my survey said they sort of knew what the Parish Council is, I could use this information in my video and clarify what the Parish Council is and what they do. My Results

This result shows us that again the majority of the people who took my survey dont know about the Parish Council website. This could be helped by my promotional video because the demographic Im aiming at is eighteen to forty-five year olds, that live in Barton Under Needwood. So the usage of this website could be helped by my video through word of mouth. My Results

This question was pointed more towards the people who knew about the website. I wanted to know how often the people who took my survey use the website so I could again use it as justification for going this project and choosing my Client. The other reason is I could possibly compare how often they use it after my promotional video is finished and has been put on the website. My Results

From this graph you can see that from the people who took my survey over fifty per cent would be more interested in the Parish Council if younger people were involved in decision making and being represented. This I think is the most important question because it gives the most justification for my project. It shows that more people would use their website more and this could spark people to be more proactive about the Parish Council. My Results

Not only have I done surveys I have also set up a meeting with the Council to generate ideas about what they would like to gain from this promotional video. I have also attended meetings with the Parish to have a idea about what they are in charge of and for them to ask questions about what they were unsure of anything. Primary Research
