Portfolio Assignments Apartment Research The assumption is that you have a full-time job that pays you minimum wage. Minimum wage in Tucson is now $11/hour $11/hour at 40 hours a week is $440 a week $440 a week is $1,760 in a four-week-month Apartments want you to pay no more than 1/3 of your monthly income on rent. 1/3 of $1,760 is about $587.

Portfolio Assignments Apartment Research You have the ability to pay $590/month in rent You have to find two apartments you can afford Apartments can be in any state in the U.S. Apartment #1 you must live in by yourself If you wish to have a roommate for Apartment #2 you still may only pay $590/month and you must assume that they have the same financial restrictions.
