2. WHAT IS DECISION- SUPPORT TOOL? Existing Tools 2 Contents Functions

EMSA RuleCheck Existing Tools Version 1.0 (2007) : CD & Web Version Version 4.0 (2010) : Check Deficiency Version 5.0 (2011) : USB Version Checklist Link Version 6.0 (2012) : Prospective EU legislations EMSA RuleCheck was developed to provide more enhanced and standardized inspection to the PSCOs in the Paris MOU regime. It has 4 main functions – Tree View, My Ship Tree, Check Deficiencies, Word Search. The Check Deficiencies function, which was developed especially for PSCOs of Paris MOU and linked to THETIS, allows an easy access to Convention references supporting deficiencies during inspections.

MED MOU MedRules Existing Tools MedRules was developed in 2012 to be used by PSCOs of the Mediterranean MOU. The system is comprised of a database of all relevant IMO, ILO conventions and Med MoU PSC manual used by PSCOs. The Checklist for PSCOs of MED MOU is linked to MEDSIS which is a internal reporting system of MED MOU. ▪ Checklist function based on deficiencies of MED MOU ▪ Local documents of MED MOU ▪ Validate check of IMO number in Checklist. ▪ Ship information auto complete by inputting IMO number in Checklist

Contents of Decision-Support Tool Decision-Support Tool includes vast conventions and codes which to be referred when inspecting the ships. Also it can accommodate various local regulations and PSC instructions.
