iBusway – Product Selector

Content Objective Way Additional support To have an overview of the software « Product Selector V3.1 » in the iBusway solution allowing to discover more about it Way To make a round of the software Product Selector V3.1. To Present the main functionalities Additional support The file HelpDoc.doc maintained by CS explaining what the software can do At the beginning of December, this file is not finalized but shows nevertheless the main functionalities of the tool To be come at the beginning of 2010 It is located at this directory : “C:\Program Files\Schneider Electric\iBusway for data center V3.1 alpha 3\Help\en-GB” The product Selector objectives Define a solution according the 3 existing one : supervision module with communication, measurement module with communication or basic module without communication For the chosen solution, follow different steps to obtain the content of the solution Add references to the shopping cart Define the prices of each references or group of references Obtain a bill of materials Export or print the bill of materials

Overview of the software Decomposition of the tool into 3 parts : The Catalog part : The user can choose references or macro-references (a set of references) according to the customer’s need and these collections of references can be added into the shopping cart The BOM (Bill Of Materials) part : the content of the shopping cart is displayed into 2 ways : The « list » view that displays the list of references without knowing if they belong to a macro-reference, the « structured » view that shows the references and the macro-references. In each view, the information displayed by column can be chosen. A list of them is displayed by default The « Project » part : Information on the project and on the customer can be entered, as well as the choice of creating a report with or without price The settings window This window is dedicated to the management of prices and discount, and allows to enter information on the user of the software It is accessible at every time in the software Presentation of the main functionalities Choose a solution and add additional references Add references or macro-references to the bill of material Search a reference Update the prices of references Update the prices by product family Update the price of one reference Add additional references not provided at the catalogue Export the BOM to Excel, or print them

Choose a solution and add additional references Information The way is to select a solution among 3 : full pack, advanced pack or classic pack In each pack, go to different steps If any additional references is needed, you can go to the “Select a product” menu to choose a reference Where to do In the catalog part 1 2 1 2

Add references or macro-references to the bill of material Information The way is to : Find a reference or a macro-reference Select this reference or macro-reference Add the selected element to the shopping cart that constitutes the bill of material The user can consult the product sheet of the selected reference The macro-reference is identified by an orange square The reference is identified by a grey square For a macro-reference, you can see the list references composing the macro-reference Where to do In the catalog part 1 2 3 1 4 2 3 4

Search a reference 1 2 1 2 Information Where to do The user can add some additional references and the tool purposes to easily find them by a search tool The way is to : Enter the searched reference or a part of them Click on the search button or press the “enter” key of the keyboard Once the reference is found, this can be added to the bill of materials Where to do In the catalog part 1 2 1 2

Update the price of references 1 Information The way is to : Click on the settings button In the setting window, in “Price list” tab, get the list of references under excel Under Excel, put the prices (management of 2 kinds of prices) Import the price list into the tool. You have the choice to import the 1 or 2 kinds of prices by clicking on the “Transfer price included” checkbox. That will close the tool and you have to run it again Where to do In every part of the tool 1 2 3 4 2 4 3 A « How to use » page in Excel file explains the way to complete the file

Update the prices by product family 1 Information The way is to : Click on the settings button In the setting window, in “Discount” tab, get the list of discounts under excel Or enter the discount directly in the page Under Excel, put the discounts Import the discounts into the tool. And validate it by clicking on the Apply button Where to do In every part of the tool 1 2a 2b 3 4 2a 4 3 Note : In the BOM part of the software, you can apply a global discount on all the project. In that case, all references are impacted by this discount. 2b

Update the price of one reference 1 Information The way is to : Click on the settings button In the setting window, in “Specific price” tab, enter the searched reference or a part of them. Click on the search button or press the “enter” key of the keyboard Once the references are found, that references are listed Enter a price for that references and validate the whole changes by clicking on the Apply button Where to do In every part of the tool 1 2 3 4 2 3 4

Add additional references not provided at the catalogue Information The way is to : Enter a new local reference and click on the OK button A window appears to enter the designation of the reference, its brand and its net price. Validate with the OK button The reference is created and available only for the current project, meaning it’s necessary to create again the same reference if you want to use it Where to do In the BOM part 1 2 3 1 2 3

Export the BOM to Excel, or print them Information The way is to : Click on the Export button and select export to Excel The software creates the exportation and opens Excel as soon as the exportation is finished Where to do In the BOM part of the tool 1 2 1 2 Note : You can do every thing you want on Excel file which is totally without interaction with the software.
