Mr. Arcuri’s Newsletter Oct. 12 – Oct. 16 The Game Plan Welcome to the Final Week of the 1st Quarter! The students will be receiving their report cards on October 26th. Please ensure that your student is completing their homework and their reading logs each night and returning their homework to school the next day. Please continue to work with your student on their Addition and Subtraction Facts. Two practice sheets are available on our class website. You can also use: http://www.harcourtschool.com/activity/thats_a_fact/english_K_3.html What We’re Practicing ELA: We will continue working on our decoding skills through our tenth spelling words list (-ir and –ur blends). We will also continue working with text-features and summarizing. Writing: We will continue working on “Telling More” and adding details to our stories and sharing them with our writing partners. Math: We will continue working with Arrays and Fact Fluency. Science: We will continue studying Earth Structures including Rocks and Minerals. Social Studies: We will continue working with Timelines. Timeline Projects are due Friday, October 16th. e Please remember that our classroom is a Peanut-Free Classroom. As a result, no snacks or birthday treats containing peanuts should be brought into the classroom! @ Rachel Thorp 2013
