Is there a pattern to winning it all? By Ryan Bochicchio NY Lotto Dataset Is there a pattern to winning it all? By Ryan Bochicchio

Intro Is there any secret to winning the lottery? In the past some have shown to have trends and patterns that made them a little more predictable Is the New York Lotto one of those?

How I Got my Data I found my Data from Kaggle.com, this was a secondary source Primary data source was from New York's data website Https//data.ny.gov

Raw data The data had 4 fields Draw date, winning numbers, bonus number, and an extra number

Cleaning the data Over all the data was already very clean I separated the winning number into separate columns There was no explanation for the extra number even on the primary dataset, so I chose removed the field.

Analysis To analyze the data I mainly used few functions and features Min and Max Countif Weekday Find feature Charts and Tables with slicers.

Findings  Max and min

Frequency Most commonly occurring number per column The Find tool

Drawing Days Used weekday function to find out what days it draws on

Future work In the future I would like to see if they day or month has an impact on the numbers. And In the future if possible, get the winning locations and see if there is any particular gas station or region that has a better win percentage.

Conclusion Some patters Wish I used a different dataset Questions
