Home/School Communication Daily Communication Folder- Important!!! Check for conduct, practice work, notices. Friday Folders- graded papers are sent every other week. Send graded papers back to school on the following Monday with your child’s Friday Folder. Graded papers are kept on file by Ms. Clark. Monthly Newsletter Email (most preferred method of contact) clarkka@fultonschools.org Notes - Please place notes in your child’s daily communication folder. Include date, child’s first and last name, teacher’s name, your signature.
Volunteer Training Parents must complete Creek View’s Volunteer Training before helping in the classroom. Volunteer Training is now available online through Fulton County Schools website. Each volunteer must also complete a background check and online video before volunteering including reading in the classroom.
Communication Transportation changes - send on the day of the change. (please do not send in advance) A sick note or an official doctor’s note -must be sent within three days of the student’s absence. It may be sent via email. Homework requests and transportation changes may NOT be sent via email. (networks may be down, teachers may be absent, etc.) All written communications should include date, child’s first and last name, teacher’s name, and your signature.
Homework Homework will include: choosing activities from the Homework Calendar beginning in September. Reading with your child for at least 10 minutes and reviewing sight words.

Student Progress REPORT CARDS are sent out every nine weeks. There will also be three Progress Skills Checklists sent home during the school year.
Fulton County Kindergarten Curriculum Math Units: Number Sense, Shapes, Comparing Numbers, Analyzing Data (length, weight, Height, Greater/Lesser, Classifying/Sorting), Adding and Subtracting Language Arts: Grammar Parts, Writing Types and Purposes– Narrative, Opinion, Informational Reading: Identifying Letters and Sounds, Comprehension of Reading Passages, New Sight Words and Vocabulary Speaking and Listening: participate in conversations, follow rules, ask and answer questions, speak audibly and express thoughts and ideas clearly.
Fulton County Kindergarten Curriculum Social Studies: All About Me, Maps and Globes, American Holidays, Our Nation, Needs and Wants Science: Physical Properties, Motion, Gravity, Day and Night Sky, Rocks and Soil, Living and Nonliving, Animal Parents and Offspring, Plants Health: Washing Hands, Germs, Bus Safety, Healthful Foods, Exercise
Project Based Learning Kindergarteners will complete two projects this year using the Project Based Learning method. Our first project is Community Helpers. We will listen to speakers from the community. Your child will choose a community helper to learn about and present to the class. A QR code of your child’s presentation will be created and shared. We will culminate with a Community Helper Dress Up Day. A letter will be sent home in September with more information. Our next project will be determined second semester.

Fall Conferences There will be a Fulton County mandated conference in October for all parents. Please allow 15 minutes for the meeting and arrive promptly. You will receive a report of teacher observations and recommendations for your child. You will be emailed a Sign Up Genius link in September to select your conference time.
