Anderson School District Anderson School District Five What is Child Find? Additional Resources Child Find is a component of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) that requires states to identify, locate, and evaluate children with disabilities, regardless of the severity of their disabilities, who may be in need of special education services. Anderson School District 5 has procedures in place to assist families and community entities in providing a continuous process of screening and evaluation designed to locate, identify, and evaluate all children residing in the school district with disabilities who may be in need of special education and related services. This includes children ages 3 to 21 who attend public or private schools; those who are home schooled; and those who are homeless or are wards of the state.
