Introductions and Presentation Purpose 4/9/2019 Introductions and Presentation Purpose Introduction Karol Gates, Director, Standards and Instructional Support Purpose To provide a basic step-by-step tutorial on how to navigate the public feedback resources. This second public feedback opportunity is set up to provide the standards review and revision committees with a mid- point check-in to determine what additional actions they need to take prior to presenting recommendations to the State Board of Education.

Major Points of Interest Familiarize Yourself with the Terrain 4/9/2019 Tour Steps Like any good tour, you want to follow basic steps to get the most of your time. Here are the 3 basic steps: Major Points of Interest Familiarize Yourself with the Terrain Stay a While Choose a subject area of interest and open the Summary of Proposed Changes. This will highlight the major points of interest to get a sense of the overall results of the committee work so far. Sign into the Online Standards Feedback System. Once you have your account, go to the subject area of interest and explore various grade levels and standards. Read through the draft proposed standards details and offer comments along the way. As you explore the revised sections in the online feedback system, if a certain item sparks your interest, download the Complete List of Proposed Changes. All committees are keeping a detailed record of any revisions of note which includes a side-by-side comparison between the current standards and the proposed revisions and the rationale for their decision.
