Additional Issues/Procedures 19 Additional Issues/Procedures Coordination will other Government Entities BIA Permits Engineer Analysis County Tax Releases Local City Permits Engineer Analysis NM State Police

Engineering /Route Analysis 20 Engineering /Route Analysis • Automated bridge capacity analysis on all bridges on state owned routes within NMOPS. • In depth analysis/modelling for loads over 500,000 lbs. • Width and height clearance analysis of state owned routes. • Issues: NMOPS does not route on locally owned routes. NMDOT does not have authority to approve travel on locally owned routes. Missing bridge data for many locally owned bridges.

Travel on Locally Owned Routes by Overweight Loads 21 Travel on Locally Owned Routes by Overweight Loads NMDOT will add a note requiring mover to obtain permission from local government for travel on locally owned routes. NMDOT will analyze locally owned bridges on route if data is available. NMDOT will contact local governments when travel over locally owned bridge is requested. Issue – Permit applicants often request movement only on state owned routes. NMDOT does not know the final destination of the load.
