Stephen F. Austin’s “COME TO TEXAS” ADVERTISEMENT POSTER You are trying to get people to come to Texas and be part of your new COLONY. Your advertisement must include: Where the land is located in Texas. Along the beautiful Brazos River (Cheap Land -12 cents an acre) 2. What type of people Austin is looking for. Persons of good character and either Catholic or willing to become Catholic. Strong people who could accept hard times and provide for themselves. 3. What people will do for a living in Texas.
