Marriage and Children Married people are happier, make more money, have more frequent sex, and live longer Does marriage tend to make people happy? OR do happy people tend to get married.

Marriage and Children Married with kids…not so much. Couples tend to report less satisfaction when children are young and again at adolesnce.

Decline begins in our mid-20s! Memory— Decline in working memory (ability to hold information in the mind) more than long-term memory Decline in episodic memory (ability to remember particular past events) more than semantic memory Decline in tests of retrieval more so than recognition

Young vs. old Younger adults tend to focus on information that will be beneficial to them in the future Older adults tend to focus on information that brings them emotional satisfaction in the present. 38% of elderly describe themselves as very happy; 28% of 18-20 year olds say the same. Overall, younger people perceive aging to be much more awful than it is.
