Road to general Dynamic Network Resource Reservation Protocol Maxim Grigoriev, FERMILAB

Motivation Several R&D projects dedicated to dynamic L2/L3 circuits reservations and QOS management are coming to production – OSCARS, TeraPaths, LamdaStation, DICE, DRAGON…etc. All deal with the same pieces of network information ( flows, DSCP ) Different implementations, different protocols, mostly incompatible AAA, BUT most of them implemented as Java webservice and trying to be interoperable Generalized interface model will benefit everyone and facilitate integration or at least inter-communication between them Some attempts to integrate have been taken

Steps to be taken XML schemas for dynamic reservation messaging flow Single repository and collaborative site for all definitions and API documentation Unified data model Transparent AAA
