Design Of A Sustainable House Shelter Submitted By: RISHI ADITYA SHARMA 2016UME1716 BASIC IDEA: We were asked to solve the problem with a specific geo-location, so I chose the states of Ganga basin which are West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh and all North-Eastern States. The second thing was to select the base material that will decide the strcture of design, so I researched about cheapest natural or composite material that is easily found in these states, I have selected BAMBOO and Bamboo Composites. India is second largest bamboo producer and west bengal with North-East produces most of the bambooes in India.

Properties of Bamboo This Chart shows Bamboo has higher Tension and Bending Strength than Steel, And Its properties can be further improved if it is treated or used in composites.
