ERE653 Final Project Saratoga State Parks Comfort Stations December 2, 2008 Kalpesh Parikh Process The bid and schedule for this project were created utilizing the specifications and plans provided. The project team created a list of activities and assigned project resources based on past experience and knowledge of the scopes of work. The labor, equipment, materials and work durations were estimated utilizing the 2006 RS Means estimating guide. Take offs were determined from the plans and durations, costs, and resource needs were estimated. The activities were entered into the SureTrak scheduling software and were populated with the estimated values for duration and cost. The final schedule duration and value was determined based on these estimates. Abstract The Saratoga State Parks Comfort Station project consists of the demolition of two existing comfort stations and construction of two new comfort stations per the specifications and plans provided for bid. All scopes of work completed as part of this project will be competed utilizing union labor at NYS Department of Labor prevailing wages. The project will be managed by The Graduates construction firm of Syracuse NY. Assumptions 100% union labor is to be utilized to complete the project. No special measures (i.e. winter conditions, overtime, etc.) were considered when calculating the cost and schedule. All work is to be completed during standard day shifts (7:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday – Friday) Summary The total cost for completing the project is $416,649, which includes all labor, materials, equipment and overhead & profit. The project will utilize subcontractors for the electrical, plumbing, interior finishes, and bathroom fixtures installation scopes. The project construction will commence on April 15, 2008 and will be completed for turn over on June 15, 2008.
