My name is Sophie S and I am the coordinator and teacher at the French department, for the bachelor and Passworld Students and here is my colleague Nicoline. Nicoline: Hello evryone, i’am Nicoline and I am aslo a coordinator and a French teacher at the French department for the Master Students. We will have the pleasure of being your French teachers, for some of you, during the semester courses. We are very glad to meet you.And we wish you all the best for this new year in France. french CLASS SCHEDULE FRENCH CLASS ON WEDNESDAYS (coordination Sophie Sousa) From January 16th to May 15th From 2pm to 4pm or 4:15 to 6:15 (depending on your level) – 2h a week Bachelor Passworld Master PGE FRENCH CLASS ON TUESDAYS (coordination Nicoline Lagel) From February 5th to May 14th From 9am to 12:15pm – 3h a week Msc Students Sophie: So, we offer different French courses. One on Wednesdays is for Passworld and Bachelor 2nd year Students. Nicoline: And the second one , on Tuesdays in the morning from 9 to 12:15. We made level groups , from beginners to advanced learners. The class will start the 5th of february and finish the 14th of may,

Speak and integrate in French! LEARNING OBJECTIVES Speak and integrate in French! Teaching Methods Interactive classes (speaking, role-play, games…) Everyday documents and tools Outdoor Activities Sophie: The French course is very important for you because it will help you integrate here in the campus life and after in the French environment, to socialize and make friends. The course program will be tailored according to your needs after a needs analysis. That you will do with your teacher You will learnfor instance how to Introduce yourself, Make contacts; Interact with French students, Nicoline: you will also learn how to get by in daily situation, like going shopping, finding your way in Paris, discovering some areas, and discover some french cultural aspect. Sophie: What about our teaching methods ? The classes are focused on communication– with role-plays and games and teamwork – Our teaching method is the task-based approach, this is the best way for you to use your language skills in everyday life and in real situations. If you want to improve and really develop your language skills, you have to commit to attend all the classes, be active during the class and do the work required.

TANDEM PROGRAM An informal learning approach An opportunity to practice French, share learning tips and become more confident A chance to share different cultures and points of view A great way to make friends The LSH department is offering assistance to help you find a Tandem, or language exchange partner. You will be put in contact with a local student who would like to improve their knowledge of the language that you already speak. In exchange, they will help you practice your French, correct your mistakes and improve your knowledge of French culture. It’s also a great way to make some new friends. Next Monday morning you will receive a Google form to register
