PCR was carried out using H1 (lanes 2 to 4), H3 (lanes 5 to 7), H5 (lanes 8 to 10), and B (lanes 11 to 13) HA-specific primers (PP, primer pairs); the expected product sizes are 1104, 785, 1110, and 1104 base pairs, respectively. PCR cycling conditions included denaturation at 94°C for 7 min, annealing for 2 min at 50°C, and extension for 3 min at 72°C, followed by 29 cycles of denaturation at 94°C for 1 min, annealing for 2 min at 50°C, extension for 3 min at 72°C, and an additional extension of 7 min at 72°C.
