Presentation transcript:

Literacy Phonics Maths Notices Newsletter Reception Class 11th March 2016 Literacy This week we have been reading the classic fairy tale Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We have been helping Goldilocks to write a sorry letter to the three bears and have created our own story maps. Some of us have even attempted to re-write the story ourselves. I am extremely proud of the amount of progress everyone is making with their writing. Keep up the fantastic work! We have had a very exciting week in Reception! It has been Multi-faith week throughout school and Reception have really enjoyed learning about the Muslim faith which is called Islam. On Wednesday we went to Preston to visit the Muslim Mosque. We had an excellent workshop and we all learnt lots! In addition to this, on Tuesday we all enjoyed the Multi-faith craft afternoon. All children got involved in making different crafts to represent other faiths. Phonics This week we have been revising all of the sounds we have been learning so far and all of phase three tricky words. Maths This week we have been learning how to estimate an amount of objects. We have been talking about sensible estimations. Also we have been looking at simple division such as how to share an amount of objects between two people. Notices Please can you all fill in some of the gaps in your sound books and revise all of the sounds so far, as next week we will be having a mini assessment test. There is also a small activity for your child to complete in their learning together book. Due to the extra curricular activities we have been doing throughout school this week we have not managed to listen to your child read twice. However, we have managed to change your child book ready for the weekend. Many thanks for your continued support, Miss Brown.
