What was your goal in the game? Global Domination Imperialism: “the system or policy of government in an empire whose focus is territorial, political, economic, and/or cultural expansion.” stronger nations dominating weaker nations When have we seen this in History?

How did it feel if you were successful?

How did it feel if you were successful? Exciting Engaged Power hungry Wanting more

How did you feel if you were not successful?

How did you feel if you were not successful? Defeated Dis-engaged Desperate

Did you group make any of their own rules to the game? What rules did you create, and why? These could be considered “rules of war” In the earlier world conflict war was governed by rules, and it was expected that both sides abided by the rules. “gentleman’s agreement”

Why did alliances form?

Why did alliances form? Desperation Protection Mutual Benefit Hate

If your leadership changed during the game how did that feel? How did it feel to take over from someone else? Dealing with their problems or successes Leaving your problems of successes (if your leadership had eneded) Did it take more to get back into the swing of things? Did you automatically know the political climate in that game? (alliances, history, war, agreements)

What role did natural disasters play in this game?

What role did natural disasters play in this game? Out of your control In some cases they completely debilitated territories Can hit the powerful or the weak equally Canada plays a major role globally in Aid for Natural Disasters.

Did you choose to use either Nuclear power or the wall? At what cost? How did these change the game? Why would someone in today’s world want to use such methods?

Do countries actually loose territories today? Give some examples that you know of?

Did you ever have arguments or feel personally attacked during a battle? Does this happen? How do these major disagreements affect policy, peace, historical perspectives, future agreements, trust….?

Why do people wage war?

Global questions Risk can help you understand: In what ways do countries around the world behave, engage, and interact with each other? Why do some countries take over other countries? Why are alliances formed between countries? Why do some countries gang up on other countries? How can superpowers be defeated by the militarily weak? How has warfare changed overtime; from ground war, to sea, to air? What is foreign policy? What are some other ways to solve world problems besides war?
