(Reading Log) Review notes in ELA section Read along with our class novel Math Nightly practice to extend the day’s learning Social Studies Review notes in Social Studies section Science Review notes in Social Studies section Homework is an extension of what has been taught in class. It provides students an opportunity to “extend their learning.” Reading at home can look several different ways: Child who excels in reading, they can handle reading independently Child performs average, they may need to be monitored from time to time to ensure comprehension Child who struggles in reading, they need to be monitored for the entire 15 minutes (read with them, talk about words that challenge, discuss plot, and monitor comprehension Child who struggles in reading, may also want to read along with our class read-aloud The Whipping Boy (read with, not ahead)

“Ready to Eat” Snack Because our lunch schedule is later in the day, we are allowing the students to bring a small, healthy snack that is ready to eat before lunch. Examples include: a banana, a bag of grapes, string cheese, a veggie, goldfish, etc. Bags of chips, candy bars, cookies, or unhealthy items will not be allowed.
