What is Continued Professional Development? (CPD) The way in which we continue to learn and develop through-out our career so as to keep our skills and knowledge up to date and allow us to practise safely and effectively. Hcpc registrant wording -not just formal courses, its any activity from which you learn and develop Eg – work-based leanring- reflecting on expereinces/ considering feedback from service users or being a member of a commitee, -prof acitvity, giving presentaitons, training , Formal education – formal courses, carrying out research, Chester Uni course, self directed learning, reading articlaes, books, DM site info updates. Do we need to do it? - What HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) say? - GMC requirements... - What DVSA (Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency) say? - could one CPD model fit all? How many HCPC standards for CPD are there? What are they? When are Occupational Therapists next called for audit? I just want you to think about that while we look at how some Centres are currently documenting their CPD.
