The International Association of Immunization Managers (IAIM) A program of the 4/6/2019

Introduction to IAIM IAIM is the first international professional association for immunization managers. IAIM’s goal is to help drive increased access to vaccines for populations around the world through improved management of country immunization programs. We do that by building the managerial and leadership capacity of immunization managers and other immunization workers. A program of the 4/6/2019

Our members Immunization managers working with ministries of health (who manage all the components of an immunization program, at the national or sub-national level) Other personnel working for immunization programs in ministries of health Physicians, nurses, and other staff working on immunizations in hospitals and health facilities (both public and private sector) Representatives of multilaterals, bilaterals, non-profit organizations, and universities A program of the 4/6/2019

What we do IAIM supports immunization managers and other immunization workers to strengthen their managerial and leadership capacity by: Providing opportunities for peer-to-peer exchange and training Providing a forum to share best practices Strengthening international and regional networks of immunization managers A program of the 4/6/2019

Types of Membership Immunization Manager Membership ($100 USD/year). Open to: Immunization managers at the national or sub-national level, who work for Ministries of Health and who manage all components of the immunization program Other personnel working for Ministries of Health who manage a component of the immunization program at the national level (example: national head of surveillance) Immunization Professional Membership ($75 USD/year). Open to: All other health workers working for immunization programs within Ministries of Health. Physicians, nurses, and other staff working in hospitals or health facilities (public and private)  Associate Membership ($25 USD/year). Open to: Representatives of multilaterals, bilaterals, non-profit organizations, and universities Any other health professional not employed by a for-profit company A program of the 4/6/2019

Please note a majority of award slots are reserved for Immunization Manager Members, however, as the association strives to raise additional funding in the years ahead it will also increase the number of awards to be made available for Immunization Professional Members. Peer-to-Peer Exchange Program Provides current immunization managers and other immunization professionals the opportunity to learn directly from a counterpart in another country through an exchange visit Immunization managers/professionals seeking to improve an aspect of their country’s immunization program can learn from a country that has achieved success in that particular aspect Peer-to-Peer Exchange Program participants are selected through a competitive application process (2-3 application cycles per year) Examples of the Peer-to-Peer Exchange Program: The national immunization manager in Saudi Arabia learned about surveillance of vaccine-preventable diseases from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) A sub-national manager from the United States visited the Albanian immunization program to learn about cold chain management, specifically the use of temperature monitoring devices such as vaccine vial monitors (VVMs). Training Scholarship Program Provides current immunization managers and professionals the opportunity to take a short course in a management-related topic Trainings can be online or in-person Training Scholarship Program participants are selected through a competitive application process (2-3 application cycles per year) Examples of the Training Scholarship Program: The national manager for The Gambia was awarded to attend the Advanced Course on Vaccinology (ADVAC) in Annecy, France. A sub-national immunization manager in Burkina Faso was awarded to attend a regional monitoring and evaluation training at Université de Ouagadougou A program of the 4/6/2019

IAIM Conferences IAIM Conferences are global and open to all IAIM members and partners Provide the opportunity for the entire membership to convene and discuss issues of importance to the field of immunization program management, and to the association itself. Feature informational sessions, member presentations, networking sessions, and panel discussions. The Inaugural IAIM Conference was held in March 2015 in Istanbul, Turkey. A program of the 4/6/2019

IAIM Joint Regional Meetings IAIM joint regional meetings are meetings which convene IAIM members from two regions, to foster the exchange of experiences, successful practices, and ideas. The agenda for regional meetings are based on the collective priorities of the members within each region. Our first Joint Regional Meeting was for IAIM members from the Middle East and North Africa, held September 2014 in Durban, South Africa. Our next Joint Regional Meeting will be for IAIM members from Southern and Western Asia and the Pacific in September 2016 in Beijing, China. A program of the 4/6/2019
