Welcome to Beanotown! Meet the team on the hunt for hidden treasure. Say hello to Pieface, JJ, Rubi, Gnasher, and the ultimate mischief maker, Dennis! They’ve heard that somewhere in Beanotown lies a treasure chest full of epic pranks – and they need your help to find it! Team up with the Mischief Makers for this year’s Tesco Bank Summer Reading Challenge Scotland and see if you can find out where the goodies are stashed.

Friday 6 July to Saturday 25 August in all Aberdeen City Libraries The Challenge runs in all Aberdeen City Libraries from Friday 6 July to Saturday 25 August. Register at your local library from Friday 29 June and receive a sticker.

Join the Mischief Makers for an epic adventure in Beanotown! Read one book and collect your very own map of Beanotown. The Challenge takes you all over town collecting clues. Dennis and his mates will be there every step of the way to provide plenty of fun and games! Each time you read two library books for the Challenge, you’ll collect another sticker card with helpful hints from your new friends and some handy tools that will help you find the box of tricks.

Your Challenge Visit the library at least 3 times over the holidays Read 1 book to collect your Beanotown map Collect rewards at 2, 4 and 6 books Complete the Challenge by reading 6 books Visit the library three times during the holidays, choosing two books you have read at each visit to count towards a final total of six books to complete the Challenge. Any library book can be read, from picture books to talking books and children receive stickers and rewards at two, four and six books but can borrow up to fifteen books at each visit.

Sign up at any Aberdeen City library from Friday 29 June and collect a sticker Start reading……. Read 1 library book to collect your map of Beanotown Read 2 library books to collect your colour-in glasses and sticker card Read 4 library books to collect your notebook, pencils and sticker card Read 6 library books to collect your kit bag and sticker card Add the stickers to your map to discover the hidden treasure and complete the Challenge!

Prizes! Everyone who reads at least one book gets a certificate Prize draw in each library for all children who have read at least one book City wide prize draw for children who read 6 books City wide prize draw for children who read 8 books or more City wide prize draw for all correct answers to the Treasure Hunt All prize winners are invited to the Celebration Event at the end of the Challenge to meet an author and be presented with their prizes

Treasure Hunt Find 2 Mischief Makers’ characters hidden in your library each week Write down the name and number of each character on the Treasure Hunt sheet available from library staff Find all 10 Mischief Makers characters, complete the sheet and wait to see if you are a WINNER!
