Objectives To analyse the effects of legislation on a retail business’s operations

New Information Legislation, refers to a group of laws. Retailers are required to follows laws in a number of areas including; health & safety; consumer protection; security; equality & diversity; and age restriction.

The consumer has basic legal rights if the product is: > given a misleading description > of an unsatisfactory quality > not fit for its intended purpose

If an employee feels they have been discriminated against, they can go to an employment tribunal and the business will be investigated.
