Student Questionnaire Answer the following questions on a piece of paper. Hand it in when you are finished. What is your name? Do you have any brothers or sisters? If yes, are they older or younger? Are you excited to take science this year? If yes, is there anything in particular you are interested in? Do you plan on joining any sports teams or clubs at school? Do you participate in any sports teams or clubs outside of school? Do you prefer to work independently? As a class? In groups? Do you have a friend in the class that you can work well with? If yes, who is it? Student Questionnaire

Organization Materials needed to be successful in Grade 9 Science: 3 ring binder (or notebook) Lined paper (or notebook) Dividers Pencils/Pencils/Erasers Ruler Put your name and the date on every handout you receive Bring your textbook to class everyday! Use your electronic device to help you stay organized, and not distract you! Learn how to use the calendar for tests, assignments and labs.

Lab Safety and General Rules We will do lab safety before we start doing labs. When we do labs in class, you will be evaluated so you need to be actively taking part in the activity. The better the class behaves, the more labs we will do. Come prepared to learn something new every day! The pace in grade 9 is much faster, so we all need to show respect to each other and not disrupt the class. Keep your cellphones away so they don’t distract you. We will use them in class sometimes, so make sure you ask before using it. If you need extra help, come and find me in Room 95 at lunch. If you miss a class, you can also come in at lunch to find out what you missed.
