Narrative Essay Evelyn McLaughlin My Three Artifacts Narrative Essay Evelyn McLaughlin

Introduction Background: If I were an ancient Egyptian pharaoh being prepared for my afterlife, I would want to bring items that represented my love for the outdoors, my passion for sports, and my desire to go to Infinity and Beyond!!! Thesis Statement: Therefore I would place in my sarcophagus my Kung Fu White Belt, yellow sunglasses, and space toys.

Kung Fu White Belt Description: Soft, silky white belt that wraps around the waist Worn when practicing Kung Fu Significance: Why did I choose this object? Kung Fu has taught me confidence, to not be scared of the dark, given me strength. Personal Example: I now know I can go into a dark room by myself because I can “Kung Fu” all the “scaries.” I slip on my knight costume, helmet, sword and all, and tip toe into the room. Using my sword, I flick on the light and jump out into a “hi-ya” horse stance position so that all the scaries are too scared to come out. It works every time. I earned my White Belt when I was three; I won third place that day; this was my first medal I ever won. Reflection: This will end up being your last sentence of your body paragraph My White Belt lays proudly across my castle. It is my flag. My symbol of courage and strength.
